EarthRoamer SX Features, Pros, and What to Consider Before Buying
The EarthRoamer SX might be the ultimate mix of terrain capability and pure luxury. With massive 43-inch tires, front and rear Warn winches, an outdoor shower, and a full outdoor cooking setup, it’s built for serious off-road adventure. And when the day outside wraps up, stepping into the SX feels like checking into a luxury suite: a full kitchen, washer and dryer, two California king beds, and even a separate shower.
You really can’t go wrong with an SX (or any EarthRoamer, honestly), but there are a few details that might make us lean toward the LT’s instead. The Chevy chassis has a wider turning radius, you have to step outside to lock the hubs for 4WD, and we’ve noticed it can struggle a bit with gaining momentum from a dead stop on steep hills.
So which model is right for you? It comes down to three simple questions:
Do you want or need the extra space?
Are those extra amenities must-haves, or nice-to-haves?
What kind of trails and terrain are you planning to take on?
Do you want the added water, gray tank, and fuel capacity?
For us, that’s the deciding factor. Either way, you end up with a rig that can handle the wild and still feel like home.
