Muley Point Trail: Moki Dugway Utah

Muley Point is a high viewpoint in southern Utah with wide views of the San Juan River valley and its Goosenecks. It sits 2,000 feet above the San Juan River and 1,000 feet above John's Canyon Trail, and the monoliths of Monument Valley Tribal Park are visible in the distance to the south. There are no railings at the edge, so keep a close watch on kids and pets.

The drive reaches Muley Point by climbing the Moki Dugway from Valley of the Gods. Above the switchbacks, the road to Muley Point turns into a straightforward fire road with no technical obstacles. It is easy to navigate in dry conditions and suits most capable vehicles.

At the top, a campsite sits right near the highest point, with views stretching across the canyon country below. A lightning storm moving across Monument Valley made an evening at camp especially memorable.

This trail is suitable for an expedition vehicle. It can be done in EarthRoamer LT models.

Muley Point is an easy drive with excellent camping and some of the best panoramic views in southern Utah.
